Catheter Cabinets Hybrid OR at BIDMC

In the Hybrid OR 19 of BIDMC’s Klarman Building, CMP’s  Catheter Cabinets Hybrid OR array of models, were meticulously engineered to enhance Hybrid OR efficiency. CMP worked in Collaboration on this room, that was temporarily part of the Rosenberg building in 2015. Eric Ryan and Mathew Bluette of CUBE 3 Architects ( Formally JACA Architects) and their team along with Walter Byrne Sr. Project Manager, Facilities BIDMC. The Klarman Building incorporates the expansion of hospital departments in the adjacent Rosenberg Building which which remained in operation throughout construction. 

In early April, BIDMC welcomed patients and their families to the Klarman Building, the first new building at BIDMC in more than a quarter century. Located on BIDMC’s West campus, the gleaming 11-story inpatient building houses 158 single-bed, family friendly patient rooms; a state of-the-art surgical pavilion; and naturally lit spaces throughout that are conducive to healing, learning, and innovation. The spacious surgical pavilion has eight operating rooms: two robotic/minimally invasive surgery ORs, one neurosurgery OR, four cardiac surgery ORs, and a hybrid OR, which can be adapted for a variety of procedures. According to Surgery Chair Elliot Chaikof, MD, PhD, the new ORs were designed to accommodate the latest technologies and multidisciplinary teams that are needed to perform some of today’s most advanced, complex surgical treatments. “It is designed to seamlessly expand and enhance existing programs on the perioperative and radiology floors while providing a new state-of-the-art Surgery.”
